How pricing works →Questions
Before your first live night.
What do we need on the night?
A projector or TV with a web browser for the big screen, and phones. Volunteers and donors use their own phones in the browser, so there is no app to install. You run everything from the control room on your phone or laptop.
What if the Wi-Fi drops?
The big screen keeps the last total, shows that it is reconnecting and catches up by itself; it never goes back to $0. Volunteer taps are saved on the phone and sent when the signal returns, and they are never counted twice.
Do donors need to download anything?
No. They scan the QR code on the big screen and give by card or make a pledge on a page that opens in their phone’s browser.
Are donors’ names shown on the screen?
Only when a donor asks to be named. Everyone else shows as Anonymous, and you can turn names off for the whole event.
How do pledges get paid after the night?
Each pledge gets a payment link. Email reminders go out on day 1, 3 and 7 and stop as soon as the pledge is paid. Donors can pay in full or split it into 2–4 monthly payments, and every payment gets a receipt with the fund on it.
Can we practise first?
Yes. New events start in rehearsal mode: no card is charged and no email is sent, so you can run the whole night with your volunteers. Then switch to the real event and go live when the room is ready.
Is it only for masjids?
No. It started with masjid appeals and fits any live fundraiser: Ramadan nights, Zakat and Eid appeals, emergency and water appeals, orphan sponsorships, school fundraisers, building campaigns and gala dinners.
What does Live Giving cost?
Live Giving is included in your KindLumen account. KindLumen charges organizations no subscription fees, setup fees, or platform fees. Card gifts go to your own Stripe account, and donors can choose to cover processing costs. If a donor does not cover transaction costs, the selected payment provider’s processing fees are deducted from the donation. KindLumen still charges the organization nothing.
Bring your next appeal to life.
Create your free account, rehearse with your volunteers, and go live when the room is ready.
